Feremesu

Feremusu has come such a long way and is growing into a fantastic young lady at MamaLand. When her mother and her father, who was the chief of their village, both passed away from the Ebola virus, Feremusu was sent to live with her grandmother. With this highly contagious virus relentlessly snatching lives, Feremusu’s grandmother also fell victim to Ebola. Without any family left to care for her, an elderly woman living on a farm had compassion and took her in. The plight of this now “double orphan” was about to take another heartbreaking turn when the older woman was bitten by a snake and developed a severe leg ulcer, leaving her incapable of caring for Feremusu any longer. (Click here, Feremusu – Heartbeats of Salone to read a more in-depth story on Feremusu’s journey)

Feremusu arrived to MamaLand in a dark place but has been shining brightly ever since! She is now in Class 4 at CRC Elementary School where she has been either 1st or 2nd in her class for the past 3 years. During Bible studies, Feremusu asks intentional and deep questions, revealing her strong faith that is becoming her own. Feremusu stands up for the underdog and empowers others with her encouragement and love. We love that she doesn’t just want to be in politics, but that she has her eyes set on becoming the President of Sierra Leone one day. Watch out world, here comes Feremusu!!
